In the Debbie Reynolds scholarship program, the above instructors are fixed to train the participants in styles that include ballet, jazz technique, contemporary, hip hop foundation, jazz-funk, and musical theater. You will also have the opportunity to work with a vocal coach to improve your performance skills and choreograph jump.

The Program is designed for dancers that are above ages 18+.

Do you know the part of choreographers in the entertainment industry?

Choreographers are responsible for creating, staging and coaching dance routines in all styles of dance including ballet, jazz technique, contemporary, hip hop foundation, jazz funk and musical theater.

Since its inception in 2015, the Debbie Reynolds Scholarship Program (DRSP) has helped Los Angeles dancers develop a strong foundation and launch their careers in the dance industry. Alumni of the Program have gone on to tour with artists such as Beyoncé, Drake, Pharrell, Chance the Rapper, Quavo, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello, Megan Thee Stallion, Anderson Paak, Lizzo, Halsey, Katy Perry, Janelle Monáe, Gwen Stefani and Flo Rida. Not only have they performed in commercials and on industrial for companies like Target, Disney, Lululemon, and Reebok; they’ve also danced in those aforementioned commercials and on industrial.

How to apply for the debbie reynolds scholarship program

Each application must be submitted three weeks before the Program’s start date, accompanied by a photo and video. In the video, showcase your creative talents for no longer than two minutes. You will be notified as soon as your application is received. Following receipt of your submission, interviews will take place via Zoom.

 

We will not hold any in-person auditions for the spring quarter due to COVID19; no late applications/video submissions will be accepted. Due to COVID19, we won’t accept or process any late applications or video additions after April 24th No late applications/video contributions will be accepted beginning April 24th.
