Edinburgh Baillie Gifford Bursary

Edinburgh Baillie Gifford Bursary is a financial aid available to students in order to aid their pursuit for a higher education and is available to all undergraduate students.

Baillie Gifford has been a supporter of Heriot-Watt’s Brightest Watts outreach program over past years, and continue to provide funding opportunities for undergraduate students from widening participation backgrounds attending Heriot-Watt University.

Heriot-Watt University is a public university based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was established in 1821 as the world’s first mechanics’ institute (Royal Charter granted in 1966).

Edinburgh Baillie Gifford Bursary

It has campuses in the Scottish Borders, Orkney, Dubai, and Putrajaya in Malaysia. The university is ranked among the World’s Top 500 by both Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

How to apply

  • The Widening Participation Access Bursary and Scholarship applications are now open. Applications for this bursary from new undergraduate students joining Heriot-Watt in September 2023 should be submitted by 5pm Sunday 20th August 2023.
  • To apply please fill in the Access Bursary Application Form
  • If you have already applied this year please do not apply again unless your circumstances have changed since your previous application.

Note – this bursary is for new students who will be joining Heriot-Watt in September 2023 only. Current students who are already enrolled are not eligible to apply.
