The Emma Hoyt Foundation was created and dedicated to improving life in Lawrence County residents. And is seriously dedicated to the overall welfare of all students that’s reside in the community of Lawrence county.

May Emma Hoyt Foundation is keen to help the county residents by offering them a scholarship for post-secondary education.  The May Emma Hoyt Foundation is based in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

The Hoyt Foundation strives continuously for the betterment of its prospective students and continued to work with the same steps that were laid and also to follow the mission and intentions that May Emma Hoyt demonstrated through her involvement and philanthropy in Lawrence County.

 

The May Emma Hoyt Foundation offers post-secondary education scholarships to the residents of Lawrence County so any student with the vision of furthering to college is awarded a scholarship. There are some criteria that are said to be required which include are commitment, and achievement to the Foundation.

The eligibility of the May Emma Hoyt Foundation is keenly focused on every student from the Lawrence County community. Therefore every student from this community is eligible to study for 4 years for post-graduate studies but can also be extended to 5 years of the course the student is to offer is a five years course.

Heads up: This 4 years course includes every post-graduate study that is below the said 4 years including any 2 years degree program

However, there is yet to be any age requirement so any student who has finished his or her high school is eligible to apply for the May Emma Hoyt Foundation. Emma believed that the hoyt foundation aspires to help any prospective students as always and also the foundation is ever ready to award them with scholarship grants

May Emma Hoyt Foundation history

Founder Alexander Crawford Hoyt who graduated from Yale University was able to make a lot of exploit in his field of operation after his degree.

Later on, Alex Hoyt expanded his family holdings when he came back to West Virginia. He became the principal of 1st national bank, owning 20,00p acres  of land.

With this huge land, Mr. Thomas v. Mansel the counsel of the bank gave him an idea of giving back to the county residents as a token of gratitude. He adopted his idea and that idea till date benefited lawrence county and its residents also that gave to the birth of the May Emma Hoyt Foundation which has helped a lot of Lawrence county residence and still counting.

The foundation held a financial launching with helped them in raising the 1st sum of $50,000 as the initial overall contribution
