The candidates are chosen from the most qualified candidates for admission to UC Berkeley through a holistic screening process that is supervised by the Academic Senate’s Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Honors, and Financial Aid.

The faculty interviews and consideration of scholarships for freshmen candidates take place in March, especially in March.
